Simply translated, Kokedama means “Moss Ball” which is basically a ball of Soil covered with Moss, on which an ornamental plant grows. They are also referred to as String gardens wherein they can be hung with a string or alternatively can sit in a shallow dish, adding to the beauty of window or tabletop.
We make each piece by hand choosing from a vast collection of plants suitable for Kokedama.
The plant in picture is Synghonium green. Syngonium is an easy to care for plant that is well adapted to indoor environments. As a young plant, its leaves start out heart-shaped, then gradually become arrowhead shaped as it matures. Its dark-green leaves have silvery white, green or pink or cream variegation, making this a decorative and popular house plant.
